This morning we went on our first real trip to Tesco, the local supermarket. My debit card still isn't working over here, which is really frustrating. But after we went to the grocery store, Trevor took us to Wye, a larger town about 10 or 15 minutes away. I was able to exchange some American dollars for pounds there. (109 American dollars = 63 pounds. Ouch.) We also went to the bakery in Wye, which was really small, but so delicious. Trevor bought us some pastries and we bought some fresh bread for our dairy. Can't wait to try some of it....
Because we are located on the South Downs, you can see the English Channel from the top of a tall hill. And I can even see France just across the water, which is so cool :) Paris is only 2 hours away, so I really hope we can go one of these days.
No class today, so it's a practice day. I've done a little already, but after I leave the New Dairy, it's time to go back to work. Adrian and I are getting our internet fix in the living room right now, listening to So Yun and Ko-Yu practicing. So Yun and Ko-Yu are playing the Wieniawski etudes and they are RIDICULOUSLY hard... so there are about a million notes a second going on right now. So, flutists, if you want a good challenge, check them out. They're published by Leduc I think.
Ok, well that's all for today I think. Tonight we're going to an Indian restaurant here in town... so excited :) Yum!
Cheerio! ;)
